The Technicalities of a Wetroom

Browsing through the internet at the myriad of wetrooms available may stir a few romantic notions or two, but the thought of all that work involved transforming your dream into reality could hold you back.

If this is the case, you have two options. You could either hire a professional or you could take the DIY route and purchase one of the many kits for wetrooms available.  In effect, you can achieve almost the same results at a fraction of the cost. Give yourself a well earned pat on the back when you realise just how easy it was to put the whole thing together.

If you have decided to do it yourself, you may want to consider a few points:

First of all, is the concept of having a wetroom feasible? If you have the blueprints to your home, fantastic; you simply need to work out the dimensions of the bathroom including plumbing, door and window placement, the location of features etc. Any problems which are likely to raise their head will usually show up now, and nearly all of them can be solved. Some may drain your budget, so a little planning beforehand could save a lot of trouble later.

Your attention to detail should equip you with a complete picture of how your wetroom will look when it is finished. You should know which appliances you are going to install and have double checked your measurements. Thermostatic showers are a great option due to their extreme versatility. Many of them come with safety devices to stop you from turning yourself into a boiled lobster! Power showers are equally as adaptable, but normally need the professional skills of a certified plumber.

Here at Bathroom2u we have a wide range of kits for wetrooms available, so we’re guaranteed to have one suitable for your bathroom space and conditions.
